How We Work

Llangollen & Dee Valley Low Carbon is primarily a local funding organisation set up to offer financial support local groups who have projects which are in keeping with our overall aims.

The principal group that is utilising this funding is Llangollen & District Friends of the Earth - which has piloted a scheme to encourage household energy conservation, reduced waste through a successful 'plastic bag free' campaign, and is now focused on establishing a small scale hydroelectric project on our stretch of the River Dee.

We are looking to expand our partners, work with local businesses, schools, and local major festivals to enable us to have a significant impact over the years ahead. Please get in touch with us if you'd like more information or feel you can help in any way.

We also have some expertise on our board which we are able to make available to the groups we are supporting.

We intend to apply for registered charity status as soon as our turnover is sufficient.
